Taking Your Power Back From Worry And Fear

Worrying about something that may or may never happen costs sleepless nights and peace of mind.

Do you expect the best or the worst to happen?

Life can feel challenging, unpredictable, and sometimes scary. You may be dealing with some situations that feel uncomfortable and staying positive and trusting is not so easy. I know the feeling!

Struggle and suffering is self-inflicted. When you are feeling fear, your attention is focused on the future or rehashing the past. Energy goes where you focus the most attention.

Breathe, get present in your body, get grounded, and anchor into the arms of your Divine. Worry, fear, anxiety dissipates when you reconnect with the inner Presence.

Counting physical objects exercise  to bring you back into the present

This exercise takes several minutes. While it appears to be very simple, the effect is quite powerfull.

Put your attention (rest your eyes) on an object in your immediate environment. Keep your attention on that object for 3-5 seconds (without thinking about what it is!) and count the number 1 out loud. Repeat this and choose different objects, placing your attention for several seconds on each one as you count up to 20 objects. Notice how you feeling when you are done.

Are you creating sacred space to be still and listen? You have an internal GPS, the voice of God, your IAM Presence that is continually speaking to you; to guide you towards living a more joyfull and prosperous life. You are either following the fears of your ego or the love of your soul. One holds you hostage. The other liberates you.

What part of you are you empowering to lead your life?  Your captor or liberator?

Stop listening to your ego/mind! It does not have the answers you seek or the wisdom to lovingly guide you.

Your ego only sees life as full of problems and obstacles to solve.

Your soul sees life as abundantly rich of possibilities and potential. Your soul see the grand vision and design for your life!

One small inner shift can create a ripple of change in your life. Continue to invest in your inner growth and transformation. It is one of the most important investments you can make to live a beautiful present and glorious future.

Today expect the best.

Listen to the whispers of your soul for guidance and direction. Tune your grate-full eyes to see all this is rich, loving, and meaning-full in your life. You are NOT alone. The Presence walks with you. The stronger your bond is with the Divine, the more Grace you will experience. The best is yet to come!  ?

As events in our world accelerate, and transformation occurs with more speed and gusto, do you have the kind of help you need to PROCESS through the emotional upheavals and life challenges to create the breakthroughs you are ready to make?

I am still accepting applications for my upcoming Soul Circle group, that will be starting soon. The group is almost half full and with only 4 seats left.

When you have people who:

Feed your heart and support you in building a strong inner foundation to weather any of life’s challenges….

Want what you want for yourself (and more) and celebrate both your victories and failures without judgment…..

Help you expand your perspective of limitation to see exciting possibilities you may have missed.. and who invite you to embrace your brilliance…

Having what you need for the next breakthrough can make the difference between struggling and soaring. Your deepest dreams can move from an idea to a reality, a challenge to a triumph when you have a team of kindred spirit to help you stay the course!

Why Even the Busiest Entrepreneurs Should Take Breaks at Work

Article Contributed by Kimberly Crossland

Entrepreneurs are a unique group of people. Their passion for their business, industry and customers is enough to keep them at work for hours on end, often times causing them to sacrifice hobbies, television shows and recreation.

Sitting for long periods of time is not uncommon for many entrepreneurs, but it is unhealthy. A recent study in Finland showed that professionals who did not take time to recover from their work week increased their risk of cardiovascular diseases. Yet many entrepreneurs claim that if they stepped away from their company for even a short period of time, they would fear being out of touch which could leave them more anxious and stressed.

If you are an entrepreneur passionate about your job to the point of fearing being out of touch for too long, there is a solution. Taking short breaks throughout the day is a good way to balance between the love of business and your health. Here are a few reasons why you should embrace the idea of taking short breaks throughout the workday and encourage your employees to do the same.

  1. Productivity increases with more breaks – Working for long hours does not always mean you get more done. When you reach the point of burnout, you could be investing valuable time at the office or behind your desk with little result. Taking breaks can help you clear your mind and focus better making you more productive.
  2. Sitting for too long can hurt your circulation – Blood flow is vital to keeping your mind and body healthy. When you sit for extended periods of time, you do more damage than you may realize. Stand up, stretch and walk around whenever possible. You may even consider investing in an adjustable height desk to help you change postures throughout the day without leaving your computer.
  3. Repetitive stress injuries leave lasting effects – Overuse of certain muscles can lead to injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and eye strain from looking at the computer screen for too long. Take a break and get some natural sunlight, even if it is only for a few minutes. This will rejuvenate your mindset and improve your physical health. To help even more, try using an ergonomic keyboard or task light. This will ensure that your office is well-equipped to keep you healthy.

Taking a break to stand up, walk around and get some natural sunlight for a few minutes is extremely helpful not only to your physical health but also to your mental well-being. For busy entrepreneurs, taking breaks can actually lead to heightened productivity and better balance overall.

50% of the People Will Hate You!

I am reading John Smoltz’s autobiography. If you are not familiar with Smoltz, he played professional baseball for over 20 years. The book focuses on the last year he played.

Smoltz is a very competitive individual. He did not like to lose, He loved playing for Atlanta and he would do what was necessary to help his team win (as long as it was legal, moral and ethical.)

What is compelling about his story is that he was not afraid to fail.

When he failed in a game (gave up 8 runs in 2/3rd of an inning) he would go back to the bullpen and make the necessary adjustment. He would take the changes he tested in the bullpen and implement them in the game. Many players would make the adjustments in the bullpen and never implement them in a game situation. His point is that these changes must be implemented or why do them.

The book is about his ability to fail forward to achieve success.

I see the same thing with my sales coaching. Many people learn the material but they never apply it. They are afraid to fail.

I remember when I wrote my first book. I waited for six months after it was ready before I released it. I was afraid of what others would think. I finally released it. That started a creative streak that lasted five years. I wrote four books in five years: Two of them went international. That would not have happened if I let my fear of failure control my behavior.

As a result of that work, I team up with TruNorth and Dr. Tony Alessandra to create a sales training web site that will be available in late January 2013. That would not have happened if I did not get over my fear of failure. Here is the press release!

Fear of failure is simply a belief. It is a belief that you can release if you choose to. It simply means you acknowledge the fear and do it anyway. As Dan Kennedy once said, “50% of the people will love you, 50% of the people will hate you. Ignore people who hate you and focus on the people who love you.”

Turning Negative Self-Talk Into Love

“Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny.”– Mahatma Gandhi

Your Self-Talk

Have you ever paid attention to the conversations you are having in your head?

Your self talk gives voice to what you believe about yourself, others, the world…  All that internal chatter can either help you or hinder you to lead a happier, prosperous life.

Your self-talk echoes the beliefs you have come to accept as TRUE, such as worst case scenarios, things that happened in the past you expect to repeat, and what ifs. If your self-talk is compelling enough, you can scare yourself into action or immobility.

Internally – it is the constant commentary inside your head.

Externally – it is the comments you make about yourself and what’s going on around you to friends, family, and everyone you come in contact with.

Your self talk can be supportive (empowering, makes you feel good) or non-supportive (deflating, makes you feel bad).

When we believe the things we tell ourselves, “It’s going to be too hard. What if I make a mistake? I’m not good enough”, we can feel confusion, anger, fear, stress…. When we believe the negative things we tell ourselves about who we are, we our world might become one of lack, pain, & struggle.

Noticing your internal commentary is an important key in taking steps to change beliefs and create new realities. The more you recognize that you are NOT the story you are identifying with and telling others, you can free yourself to shift into empowered choice and action.

The Power of Language (excerpt from Aligning With Destiny program)

When you become aware of the language you are using unconsciously, you can intentionally choose to shift the energy to a more expansive way of expressing, thus raising your vibrations to align with manifesting what you want.

Common ways we use language to create pain:

Notice how some of the language is creating undesired states of being through violent suggestions and untruths that our bodies. How often do you think and say things that begin with these words? Repeat the words below and feel into your body as you say them out loud.

•    I don’t have time to….
•    I’m starving to death
•    My head is killing me
•    You make me sick
•    This person/situation is driving me crazy
•    “You made me…” (blaming others for your reaction)
•    My life would be better if only…(excuses and rationalizations)
•    I am…
•    I’m the type of person who…
•    I can’t afford to…
•    I can’t…
•    It’s too hard…
•    I’m sick and tired of…

How do you feel? Do the words feel constrictive or expansive?

We manifest what we give the most energy and attention to. If you are using words that create pain and constriction, you will make them your reality.

Shifting Language

Shifting language includes recognizing that how you schedule your time is a choice based on what your valued priorities are in any situation.

Words like NEVER, ALWAYS, and FOREVER are constrictive and imply absolutes. When you find yourself using these words, ask yourself, “Is what I am thinking, feeling, and saying really true?”

Shifting language is simple and powerful. You can start by replacing constrictive, restrictive or untrue language by challenging yourself to align with your truth.

Instead, you can say things like:

•    Sometimes
•    In some situations
•    I have had experiences when
•    In the past…
•    I have found…
•    It’s possible….

Words like: should, shouldn’t, need to, have to, and “supposed to”… create the illusion that you have a lack of choice.

You don’t

How much vitality and joy do you feel when you do things out of guilt, obligation, or shame because you fear negative consequences. You may be afraid of upsetting others or risking the withdrawal of their love and being punished in some way.

The result is a build-up of resentment, anger and frustration that ultimately becomes self-directed.

Shifting into the language of choice opens the flow to receive more of what you want. Repeat the words below and feel into your body as you say them out loud.

•    I choose to…..
•    It’s ok to…
•    I give myself permission to
•    I allow…
•    I want…
•    I get to…
•    I love to…

How do you feel?

Do the words feel constrictive or expansive?

The mind, when directed by Universal Love (God/Higher Power, one’s Spirit) can be an amazing tool for creating a fulfilling and purposefull life, especially when the mind is allowed to be directed by the heart/Universal Love.

Whether you want a thriving business, greater prosperity, vibrant health, a loving relationship, weight reduction….. your thoughts and words are creating your reality all the time.

Start consciously paying attention to your self talk. Is it positively supportive or non-supportive? What are you repeating to others?

If it’s non-supportive, how can you change your language to be more affirming and accepting?

If you saw yourself through the eyes of love as the Divine sees you, how would your self-talk change?

What would love say?

What would love feel?

What would love think?

What would love do?

Energy goes where attention goes.  Choose the thoughts and words you wish to be the seeds that sprout in the inner garden of your heart. What you plant today and water every day becomes the flowers or weeds of your future.

What My Zumba Instructor Can Teach You About Your Biz

I admit it. I’m addicted to Zumba.

But it didn’t happen right away. For a year I flitted in and out of classes, not really clicking with it but since I kept hearing from my friends how much they loved it I kept trying it.

And then I ended up in a class with a woman named Tiger. And I was hooked.

Tiger was born to teach Zumba. Her passion and love for it are infectious plus she’s an excellent teacher (in fact she’s been honored at a statewide level she’s such a fabulous teacher.) Her classes are packed, and her teaching methods and style has influenced all the Zumba instructors at the YMCA.

But, it wasn’t always this way. In fact, she almost got fired after her very first class.

In that class, she started with 18 students. By the time the class was half over she had 9. But the time class ended it was down to 6. And the next day her boss asked Tiger to come to her office.

Her boss told her she had been flooded with complaints about Tiger.

* Too much hips

* Too Latino

* Too sexy

* Too loud

(I’m unclear what they actually thought Zumba was all about since that’s pretty much the definition of Zumba but whatever.)

Her boss told Tiger she couldn’t teach anymore unless she toned it down. So she went home and said to her husband “They won’t let me teach because they think I’m too sexy.”

Her husband answered “Oh they’re a bunch of old white women, they don’t get it.”

“I have to tone it down if I want to teach,” Tiger said.

“You don’t change a thing,” her husband said. “You teach it the way you want to. And if they don’t like it, we’ll find a place that does.”

So Tiger went back to her boss and begged to be given another chance. “Will you change?” her boss asked.

“Yes, yes, yes,” Tiger said, fingers crossed behind her back.

And of course she didn’t change a thing. Her next class she taught it exactly the way she had taught the first one. But this time she had younger students who loved it and told her boss. So her boss finally gave her a class of her own to teach. It was the smallest class the Y ever had — about 6 students. In 3 months it was up to 40.

And the rest, as they say, was history.

So there are a lot of things to take away from this story, but the one I want to talk about today is the idea of ideal clients.

As successful Tiger is as a Zumba instructor, in front of the wrong crowd (i.e. the opposite of her ideal clients) she was a complete failure. Once she found her ideal clients everything fell into place.

And that’s why knowing your ideal clients is so crucial to the success of your business, and why trying to market to everyone leads to spinning your wheels. Because not everyone is going to become your customer (it honestly doesn’t matter how good you are or how much they need what you’re selling, they just aren’t). And all you do is dilute your message when you try to talk to everyone instead of just to your ideal clients.

And even if you end up getting your non-ideal clients in your business, those are the ones who will be harder to please, who will be more likely to complain you’re just “too sexy.” And at the end of the day, ask yourself: Are those the people you really want to be serving in your business?

Because chances are you’ll probably be a lot happier if you have a business filled with clients who love how sexy you are.
