I agree that LinkedIn and similar websites may have a positive effect on business, however, it is important to note that these sites are not comparable to Facebook, MySpace and the likes. The latter are sites aimed at the personal aspect of social networking (look at pictures, read journals/blogs) while LinkedIn etc are aimed at the professional market.
